29 Jun Charcoal kitchens are in (and could increase the value of your home!)
Welcome news in from Ideal Home this weekend, whose research has shown that not only are charcoal kitchens in, but they ‘could boost a home’s value by over £13,000‘. Now, that’s a colour scheme that’s packing a punch!
The research was conducted across 14 cities in the UK, researching how kitchen features can influence house sales, and it appears that kitchen colour can have a significant influence. This is fantastic news for owners of beautiful charcoal kitchens looking to sell, but we’re about creating beautiful kitchens for you to live in now, so how about we create your dream charcoal-hued kitchen right away?
More great reasons to choose a charcoal kitchen
Add some drama and contrast to your kitchen design
Charcoal is considered a bold choice because you can’t ignore its dramatic hue. A charcoal-coloured kitchen does not blend into the background; it takes centre stage, and we are here for it.
Use it with real wood worktops or features to add some warmth and texture. Or choose a cool quartz worktop for a crisp and elegant contrast. A crisp white quartz with a charcoal vein running across would work beautifully.
Style it dark, all of it.
Embrace delving into the dark side, and don’t pick a contrast. Instead, lean into the charcoal palette with a black or charcoal stone worktop. We love the ranges at Laminam and KonigCeramic.
Consider your light fittings, handles, bar stools, and appliances, and use the same colour scheme throughout for a cohesive and stylish look.
An alternative to black kitchen design
Many of us love dark, dramatic colour schemes, but some find a matte black too bold a scheme, and the colour too flat. Charcoal is the perfect alternative. Being on the grey spectrum, it is multi-toned, sometimes with a clearly grey undertone, sometimes even a bit of blue or green in certain lights.
Charcoal delivers a style statement but has a depth of colour that really differentiates it from black.
Luxury served
Charcoal kitchens look and feel luxurious, there’s just a quality to the colour that oozes confidence, sophistication and luxury.
Elevate your luxury new kitchen even further by selecting features such as your handles or rails in brass or gold; the combination is stunning.
