This kitchen design in East Sussex had an unusual brief but a great one! Our customer bought a kitchen from us a few years ago and then moved house. They loved their kitchen from us so much, they gave us a call and asked us to replicate it in the new house!
The new house is a beautiful period property but the existing kitchen and breakfast room did not make the best use of the space. In partnership with the client, we redesigned the whole area. We knocked the two rooms together and switched them around, creating a more practical space for a busy young family. In addition, we designed a bespoke utility and boot room to further enhance their living space both practically and stylishly. This provided much more useable space for the family and really maximised the area for modern family life with a well integrated kitchen and living space.
Having loved the previous kitchen so much, the new shaker style kitchen was designed to replicate every feature; granite work surfaces, the statement butchers block and natural oak units. Then, to complement the whole space and break up the colour, we recommended the addition of some white painted units and a dresser. This lightened the whole colour scheme, created a light and airy feel to the kitchen and helped integrate the breakfast room and kitchen zones together.
To further reflect the period nature of this house, we used American copper handles on the cabinets. The handles have a beautiful, traditional design and were the perfect finishing touch for this kitchen.
