About This Project

The Brief

This customer came to us via a recommendation which we always love! They wished to create a statement kitchen to take centre stage in a new extension, featuring a vibrant blue.  The brief to us was to come up with a contemporary kitchen design and bring their vision to life.

A bespoke and contemporary kitchen design

This kitchen was part of much larger building project, so ensuring the budget was in balance with the overall project was paramount. We guided the customer on the elements in their design where the spec could be reviewed. This enabled them to make informed choices about the kitchen and wider build, and to balance both budgets effectively.

When designing the kitchen we wanted to create a really flawless finish to maximise the style statement of the blue colour scheme. To achieve this style statement, we chose a chic handleless solution.

To provide some contrast and introduce some different textures, we used a combination of laminate on the island and recess, and white quartz on the work surface. The pale quartz contrasts beautifully with the blue furniture. In the evenings, the lighting in the plinth and recess above the sink glow softly which creates again achieves a lovely contrast in the colour scheme.

With such a small colour palate, it was important that everything felt seamless.  We matched the laminate on the breakfast bar and recess to the vertical handleless rails. The result is a really coherent, stylish modern kitchen.

The handleless doors on all the cabinetry are a statement in themselves. On trend, beautifully simple and stylish, and create an unbeatable sleek finish.

All in the detail

The first thing to crack was the shade of blue! Having explored over 100 colour samples, there were two shades they’d whittled their choice down to. It was so important to get the colour right as it was to be the principle statement for the whole kitchen. To assist, we arranged for two sample panel doors to be painted in the two shades of blue. This enabled the customer to see how the colour would translate to a whole cabinet and make the final decision.
