About This Project

Brief

With a previous kitchen damaged beyond repair, our clients were ready to start afresh and change things up a bit with a new layout and aesthetic. They wanted a timeless kitchen design that would be both practical for a family and provide a great backdrop for entertaining.

The previous kitchen had featured a range cooker and free-standing American-style fridge freezer, but for the new one, they wanted a more streamlined look with integrated appliances.

Our bespoke kitchen design

This kitchen is a classic, painted in-frame shaker kitchen in a two-tone colour scheme. The island is painted in Sea Harr, and the main run of furniture is in Murkle Sand. These complementary tonal colours have a timeless quality to them and work beautifully with the copper fixtures and fittings.

The copper elements work so well here; The Quooker tap is in Rose Copper, the handles are from Crofts and Assinder in American Copper, and the butt hinges on the units are also in an aged copper finish to match the handles.

The worktops are Corian in Carrara Crema, which has lovely soft beige tones and veining. Corian is ideal for busy family kitchens. It is a nonporous product, so stains do not penetrate the surface, and with proper cleaning, it also resists the growth of mould, mildew, and bacteria.

To keep to the streamlined brief, we installed a Bora Pure hob with downdraft extraction and double NEFF Slide and Hide ovens. The integrated fridge and freezer are also NEFF. In addition, we housed the freestanding washing machine and tumble dryer behind doors and concealed the boiler within a wall unit.

For the final detail, the beautifully simple and timeless bar stools are the Franklin Stools and these can be bought via our website or ordered in person in the showroom.

All in the detail

The new kitchen island is in the same location as in the previous kitchen layout because it works with the lighting on the beams above. However, in our redesign, we moved the breakfast bar so anyone sitting at the island with their morning cuppa or evening G&T has a lovely view of the garden.
