These customers are very special to us so we were delighted to work with them on this project!
The brief was to facilitate a kitchen and utility renovation that would include opening up the kitchen and diner into a contemporary open plan space.
Our customers had a really clear vision of what they wanted to achieve so our job was to help them bring the vision to life.
The vision was for a very contemporary handleless kitchen and utility room. For the dining area, despite the open plan feel, this needed to have a distinct zone and separation.
Getting the lines right in this kitchen was critical to achieve the streamlined and uncluttered look. The true handleless design is elegant in its simplicity, so it’s important that the recessed rails and lines of the furniture all flow around the kitchen in unbroken lines. This creates that seamless and effortless looking simplicity.
We love the customer’s choice of cashmere acrylic gloss here for the colour scheme. It is modern but has a soft, almost tactile appeal to it, ensuring there is still a warmth to the space without compromise on light. The recessed rails in brushed steel offer some contrast but do not detract from the scheme. The light and simplicity is accentuated by the Quartz worktop and splashback in Cotton Star.
To help create a real zone for the dining area, a bespoke shaker style storage unit was designed for the end wall. The customer’s choice of that peacock blue really brings it life and creates a fabulous contrast between the two spaces.
Custom height doors and tall units were specified in this kitchen. This enabled us to achieve both the height required and ensure clean, unbroken lines throughout the design.
In kitchen designs like this where the simplicity of the colour palette and details is key, it was important to conceal appliances or for those on show, ensure they echoed the streamlined feel of the kitchen. Falmec was the ideal choice for the extraction system, and Quooker for the tap. The quality and style of both sit unobtrusively in this design.
To deliver a really flawless finish on the statement storage unit in the dining area, this was hand painted on site.
