About This Project

Brief

To design an open plan kitchen, living and dining space for a new large extension.  Our clients wanted to utilise the original galley kitchen area, create distinct zones and a much more sociable space.

Our bespoke kitchen design

We designed an in-frame shaker kitchen for this large contemporary extension in a two-tone colour scheme. Our clients were very keen to incorporate a bold colour but weren’t sure how best to execute it. We recommended a pale, timeless grey for the main run of furniture and then Farrow & Ball’s Vardo on the kitchen island. This is such a fabulous, rich colour and looks so glamorous teamed with the velvet stools and brushed brass handles.

When designing a large space, incorporating enough storage and different practical zones is important. For this kitchen, we incorporated an office area, a breakfast pantry and concealed walk-in larder, in addition to the dining and living zones. Ensuring a practical and stylish space for the whole family to benefit from.

This is a modern kitchen in a contemporary space, but the three panel in-frame shaker style with elements of tongue and groove panelling adds a lovely timeless quality to the overall design. The deeply veined grey quartz worktop used throughout the kitchen works beautifully with the pale grey and Vardo colour scheme.  The under counter LEDs on the island help make the island even more of a feature and generate a lovely soft ambient light.

The kitchen is completed with Siemens, Bosch and Neff appliances, including the Neff slide & hide oven, this is such a great feature and one of our best sellers. The stylish Quooker tap completes the look.

All in the detail

To enhance the design of this this kitchen we built a false chimney above the Barazza hob to create a real feature and focal point in the kitchen. The false chimney breast also neatly conceals the Falmec integrated extractor.

This is a glamourous but very practical kitchen, living and dining space, we’re thrilled with the result, and just in love with that island!
